All our pavilions can be custom-made to suit your needs. If you have a special design you would like us to build, please send us a detailed drawing of it. Explaining it over the phone allows for misinterpretation, so the order must be placed by mail or fax with a detailed sketch and measurements included. We will need a 50% deposit if you want to order a custom tent, and no returns are allowed on custom orders made to your specifications. If you want to make your own tent, we have canvas, grommets, rope, everything you need available for sale, please call for pricing information on these items. We will be happy to help you out with design ideas or construction problems if we can, time permitting. If you want to decorate and personalize your pavilion by painting stripes, or your own designs, be sure to use quality materials. We recommend using watered down artists' acrylic paint, which can be purchased from any local art supply store. Some people use latex house paint to decorate their tents. While we do not recommend this, the manufacturer of Sunforger-finished fabrics has no recommendations at this time about paint, except to avoid using any oil-based paints as it may penetrate the canvas and treatment, thus making your tent leak. It is important to remember to take care of your new home. Even though this fabric is mildew-resistant, you still have to make sure you let the material dry completely if it gets wet. Most fabrics, even those treated for it, will still mildew if they are not properly taken care of. Keep your tent clean by keeping dirt and debris from accumulating on the fabric surface – even with a mildew-resistent finish, mildew can grow on this accumulated dirt and eventually stain or damage the fabric. To clean this canvas we recommend to dry-brush with a medium-soft bristle brush, or to wash with tap water from a hose using a spray nozzle, a soft-bristle brush, and a mild detergent. Be sure to rinse any soap off completely, and to let the tent dry thoroughly before you store it. If the fabric has been exposed to salt water, wash with a hose using tap water before cleaning it. Do not use solvents, soaps, bleach, aerosol cleaners, or other chemicals to clean your tent, as it may remove the finish and damage the fibers of the canvas. Make sure that the canvas is completely dry before you put it away. If you use insect repellent around the fabric, do not spray it directly on the canvas. Since most insect repellants contain a rewetting agent as a propellant, if sprayed on the fabric it may damage the water-repellant treatment and allow the tent to leak. We are a custom tent company, so we do not generally keep tents in stock. The spring and summer are frequently our busiest times of the year, and we can get backed up. Shipping will generally take 2 to 6 weeks from the time you order your tent, but may take longer in some cases. This information will be stated on your copy of the invoice, and is a general indication of when your tent will be shipped. Your tent may ship earlier than this date as well, depending on the circumstances. Our prices include the canvas tent only, and there are additional charges for poles and non-standard walls. We will, on occasion, manufacture a complete selection of poles built specifically for your tent, which are constructed after the tent has been sewn and measured. All poles are ready for sanding and finishing with oil or paint when we ship them to you. Pricing is based on the size of the tent, and the number of joints needed. All poles over 9 feet must be sectioned and sleeved for shipping due to UPS shipping limits. We will provide you with plans for your own poles if you prefer, as many of our customers prefer. |
