When you are deciding what style pavilion you want there are
several things you should take into account:
-
Are you looking
for a personal tent, or are you a family, large group (barony, etc.), or a
merchant in need of a larger amount of space? If you are a family, couple, or
an individual, you may not need as much space as a merchant needs.
-
Will you be
setting up your tent by yourself, or will you have people available to assist
in the set-up? If you are traveling alone, you may want a tent that is easy
for one or two people to set up, rather than a large marquee, since they tend
to require more people.
-
Will you be using
the tent for storage and sleeping or for entertaining? If you often entertain,
you may want to get the smallest tent you can comfortably fit in with your
belongings, and invest in a larger shade for entertaining space.
-
Do you carry
many things with you to events? Do you pack light, preferring to sleep on the
ground, having a single cooler and few belongings? Do you pack for comfort and
style, preferring to have a bed off the ground, clothes racks, several coolers
and chairs? The amount of belongings you intend to take with you may also
dictate the size of tent you need.
-
What sized walls
would be best to purchase? While 6’ is a standard that works well for most
people, and allows for entrance with minimal stooping over, merchants and
taller people may want to consider taller walls for a more open feeling and
the comfort of others that walk into the tent.
